MARS

The MARS System can be configured for organic and inorganic synthesis with a variety of vessel choices and turntable options. Both open and closed vessel reactions can be run in this multimode system, which can also accommodate accessories such as condensers and reflux glassware. Efficient microwave power delivery (programmable up to 1600 watts) and CEM's advanced, proprietary vessel designs ensure controllable, reproducible reactions up to 100 times faster than conventional thermal heating. All MARS Systems are constructed of solid, high-grade, stainless-steel with a cavity that is multi-layer Teflon®-coated to resist corrosion.

Product Advantages

  • Reduce reaction times
  • Increase yields
  • Improve purities
  • Pathway simplification
  • Perform open vessel or pressurized reactions!

Microwave sample preparation with the new MARS 6 SystemOne Touch Makes All the Difference - Mars 6

CEM brings a remarkable intelligence and ease of use to microwave sample preparation with the new MARS 6 System.

Totally redesigned with an impressive list of features and capabilities, MARS 6 was developed to make microwave sample preparation virtually effortless.

Advances in ICP and ICP-MS systems demand a microwave sample preparation system capable of providing fast, complete digestions for lower detection limits in a high-throughput environment. The need to balance shrinking budgets with higher productivity demands a cost-effective, robust platform that can be easily upgraded. Changing laboratory dynamics demand a system with built-in training capabilities. MARS 6 provides all of this in the most easy-to-use microwave sample preparation system ever developed.

At the heart of the MARS 6 is CEM's new One TouchTM Technology, an unparalleled combination of more than 30 years of microwave chemistry expertise with the most advanced software, sensor, and touchscreen technologies. It's like having a CEM chemist built into the system. Simply choose a One Touch method and the MARS 6 does the rest, automatically recognizing the vessel type, counting the vessels, and determining all of the parameters necessary for a fast, complete reaction.

Product Advantages

  • Choose from simple CEM One TouchTM Technology or MARS Classic method programming
  • Dual magnetrons (1800W) - more power delivery than any other microwave digestion system
  • PowerMAXTM power control technology delivers maximum energy to the sample for more complete digestions
  • Large wide-format, high-resolution, acid-resistant touchscreen - no external controllers needed
  • Remarkably easy-to-use, intuitive onboard software
  • Advanced sensor technology for vessel recognition, temperature and pressure control

Mars 5Maximum Control Option MARS 5

Fluoropolymer liners of TFM®, combined with CEM's proprietary composite sleeve material and open frame architecture make this high technology molded vessel the safest option for extreme matrices. Quite simply, these vessels are the lightest, strongest and fastest cooling vessels available. The strength-to-weight ratio of CEM's advanced vessel designs negates the need for exterior cooling devices. Forget accessory cooling blowers, water baths, or ice baths! No other vessels cool this fast!
All MARS Systems contain built-in software safeguards that disallow programming to unsafe combinations of pressure and temperature. CEM offers a range of liner choices for its vessels including TFM, PFA, quartz, and glass.

Configure your MARS System with XP-1500 PlusT vessels, the ESP-1500 Plus and RTP-300 Plus reference vessel controls and TempGuard Plus for the highest temperature and pressure conditions available with maximum safety and control.
Maximum Control for the Digestion of High-Temperature or High-Pressure Samples

Product Advantages

  • NEW! Optional all-vessel temperature control
  • Highest temperatures (up to 300 °C) or pressures (up to 1500 psi)
  • Easy "pop-in" sensor connections
  • In situ temperature control
  • Direct pressure feedback & control

MarsXpress for ExtractionSuperior Performance and Reliable Results Fast MarsXpress for Extraction

The helps your laboratory practice green chemistry and reduce its solvent usage. Perform over 500 microwave extractions using the same amount of solvent you would normally use for only 32 Soxhlet extractions. Methods that involve nonpolar solvents may be easily used without any additional solvents, as CEM's Carboflon® stir bars allow you to perform extractions without any change to your current solvent scheme.
Temperature and pressure feedback options provide precise control over reactions, ensuring safe operating conditions and accurate results.
Experience the fast, efficient and safe advantages of microwave-based solvent extraction with the MARS System for Extraction. Increase your laboratory's productivity with our fast, cost-effective alternative to conventional methods that is safe for the operator and the environment.

Product Advantages

  • Shorter extraction times
  • Reduced solvent consumption
  • Improved recoveries
  • The MARS for Extraction meets requirements for the following SW-846 extraction methods:
    - USEPA Method 3200
    - Proposed USEPA Method 3546
